QUEBEC, July 21. 2014 / CNW Telbec / – The Minister of Employment and Social Solidarity, François Blais, today announced the 2013-2017 and 2013-2022 employment prospects, which indicate that employment opportunities are favorable to Quebec for the coming years, particularly for young people. According to Emploi-Québec, nearly 725,400 jobs will be available in Quebec between 2013 and2017 and more than half (53%) of them will be filled by young people under 25 who are not yet in the labor market.For the 2013-2022 period, the number of positions that will be filled, with 58% youth is estimated at 1,358,500.
“Young people must address the labor market with optimism because the job prospects are favorable in all regions of Quebec for the coming years. The number of jobs should also reach a record high during the next decade. In addition, significant wealth creation projects that put the government of Quebec, such as the Maritime Strategy and the revival of the Plan Nord, let us hope that we will exceed these expectations, “said Minister Blais.

During the years 2013 to 2022, some 1.1 million people in Quebec are expected to retire and be replaced. This ten-year period, 20% of the needs of labor hire workers require professional level, usually requiring university education.In addition, nearly a third of vacancies require the technical level, while 28% of jobs require a high school diploma or a short training.
Among the 429 occupations for which Emploi-Québec makes a diagnosis about the prospect of employment over the period 2013-2017, 87% acceptable or favorable outlook, and employment in these occupations accounting for 95% of total employment Quebec (2012).
