New Philippine Ambassador to Canada Visits Montreal.

Ambassadress Petronila P. Garcia is here in Montreal today September 18, 2014 at 7:00pm to meet and greet Montrealer. Filipino Community Leaders of various organizations and some Filipino supporters’ political leaders in the city convene at the Filipino Community Center ,Van Horne, Montreal, to welcome the new Ambassadress to Canada. Among the officials present to meet the new Ambassadress was Mayor Anthony Housefather of Cote Saint Luc, Councilor Marvin Rotrand of Snowdon and Cote De Niege Borough, Howard Liebman -Chief of Staff and Executive Assistant
of Hon. Irwin Cotler (Member of Parliament) for Mont Royal. [easy-media med=”1369″]

Hon. Petronila P. Garcia is the first female Ambassador to Canada since 1972. She is a woman who came from a family who stick to Military Codes and of Catholic Faith. For 30 years of service she develop her passion of serving God and the country. She said that her assignment here in Canada coincide with the renaissance of Filipino and Canada relationship and ask for Filipinos’ support. She urges Filipino Montrealer’s to support her in her mission to create opportunities that bring good values to Filipino and Canadian friendship and to benefit all our community here and in the Philippines.
She said that recently Filipino and Canada bilateral relation had reach its milestone emphasizing how important Canada to the Philippines and Philippines to Canada.
The Ambassadress told the community that Canada played an important role in the economy of the Philippines. Announcing the Winter Escapade Tour to the Philippines. January 2015 will be the 2nd Winter Escapade Tour encouraging to spread the word to Filipinos and friends to join the tour package.
Proud to say It’s more Fun in the Philippines, the group will visit many beautiful places in the country such as Dumaguete, Siquejor, Bohol and Cebu to name a few.
She did mention too, that Canada was the number one big donor of help during the Haiyan typhoon last year sending the DART(Disaster Assistance Response Team) and raised 85 million dollars which was matched by the government dollar per dollar. She invited all the Filipinos to show devotion to the motherland and ask to register to vote for the coming election in 2016. She did campaign to all also to vote for Vigan as one of the new 7 Wonders – Cities.
As she looks forward to all Filipino support for the success of her mission, it’s all up to the Filipinos in Montreal on how they would participate in boosting the creation of opportunities that would bring great values to the Filipinos and Canadians both here in Canada and in the Philippines.
